The Proposal I'd Been Waiting For
Elizabeth C
On the last day of my second year of college, my boyfriend Kevin came to my university to visit me. I had been extremely stressed preparing for finals and we had had some arguments about whether or not he should come up for the weekend. He insisted on coming, but I wasn't so sure. Clearly he came up anyways. When we got to my room Kevin was sort of antsy and seemed to be waiting for my roommate to leave, I just figured he was trying to be polite and not engage in any PDA with her around. When my roommate left Kevin told me he had a present for me and something lucky I could wear to my finals. I was really excited. He reached into his suitcase and pulled out a gift wrapped in Christmas paper (even though it was May). I opened the package and found a Kodak picture book. Inside were pictures of us together from kindergarten, through high school, and even through college. It was amazing. When I turned to the last page of the book I felt Kevin move beside me. I looked at the page and there were 3 pictures of a ring and the words, "And now we can spend the rest of our lives together." I looked beside me and Kevin was down on one knee holding up the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen. He then said, "Liz, will you marry me?" I began crying and said yes. It was the single best moment of my life.
